Are Republican ‘Values’ Based on Sexual Perversions?

Larry Craig
Update 06, 26, 2009 – In response to numerous sex scandals – in particular, several recent public affairs by high ranking Republicans – the Republican National Committee voted Thursday to remove “Family Values” from the official GOP (Great Obscene Party) platform.

After hearing and reading about Senator Larry Craig’s Minneapolis Airport bathroom episode, Senator John Ensign’s affair with a married campaign staffer, the very latest admission by Republican South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford about an Argentina-related extramarital affair, the Bill Clinton – Monica Lewinsky BJ marathon doesn’t seem so shocking any longer.
Republicans do not have a monopoly on cheating on their spouses, or engaging in strange and/or illegal sexual acts of course. John Edwards can serve as a good example of that, or for that matter Ted Kennedy’s even more serious Chappaquiddick Island incident, but it is truly incredible how the GOP, which touts “family values” and morality in general seems to attract such a high percentage of cheaters, deviants and liars.
Here are a few choice examples of Republicans in action:

Neal Horsley
Republican anti-abortion activist Neal Horsley admitted to having sex with a mule, a man and a watermelon.
Randal David Ankeney, a Republican activist was charged with six counts related to getting a 13-year-old girl stoned on pot and then having sex with her.
Jim Bakker, the televangelist who worked at Pat Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network has confirmed that he committed adultery with Jessica Hahn, and then used charitable donations to pay her hush money. Other televangelists have stated in the past that they believe he’s gay.
Parker J. Bena, a Republican activist and a key player in the campaign to elect George W. Bush as president was charged and later pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and lying to the FBI.
George W. Bush, was accused in a criminal complaint and lawsuit of raping Margie Schoedinger, who later died in a questionable case of suicide.
Neil Bush, brother of G.W. Bush, in a March 2003 divorce deposition, admitted repeatedly having sex with strange women who just showed up at his room while on an Asian business trip.
Mark Foley, a Republican Representative from Florida resigned after trying to solicit sex from male congressional pages via an instant messenger program.

Newt Gingrich
Newt Gingrich, a crusader against legislation that assists women and the poor, has married three times while spouting Christian values the entire time. His campaign worker admitted that she gave Newt a blowjob while he was still married to his first wife, essentially placing Newt in the exact same position as Bill Clinton.
Lewis “Scooter” Libby, the former Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff to Vice President Dick Cheney published a novel containing bizarre sexual content, including bestiality and pedophilia.
Jimmy Swaggart, televangelist, after exposing other televangelists as adulterers was caught in a Louisiana motel room with prostitute Debra Murphree.
Strom Thurmond, an outspoken southern republican senator and a racist as a younger man raped and impregnated a 15-year-old African American maid.
There have also been all kinds of sexual and drug-related allegations against Rush Limbaugh and many, many other staunch Republicans.
It is comforting to have such supremely “moral” and “family minded” people out there to guide all of us sinners on the path of righteousness.

I think not living up to your ideals is on both sides of the aisle but there is an emphasis on what the Repubs do. The press knew for a long time about Edwards but chose to do nothing about it in terms of breaking the story. And the press knew about Lewinsky, too, but it was Drudge who broke that story.
At least most Democrats are not playing the “moral” and the “family values” game…
I’d rather have some people put their moral beliefs down and fail to live up to them than have other people not have any beliefs to fall short of.
What sort of beliefs that are worth anything do you think that the people in question have had?
I don’t follow the governor from S. Carolina. Fact is, if you look enough you can dig up dirt on anybody. Elliot Spritzer from NY was a Democrat and he got caught with hookers and had a family he trotted around during every event he could. Basically, people love hypocrisy and I’m all for that but only when it’s looking at both sides.
Take a look at Mark Sanford’s story. First he disappeared for several days. We were informed that he was hiking the Appalachian Trail and now it turns out that he went to Argentina to see his honey. Sounds like a juicy story to me.
As far as Spitzer, the Democrat is concerned I did post a story on that in March, 2008 http://www.politicus.us/?s=spitzer
A really dumb move on his part. I cannot imagine paying thousands of our devalued dollars just to get laid.
Anybody who would seek higher office these days already has lots of problems so I guess the marital/ethical ones go with the package.
And it’s not just about what somebody does in the bedroom. Dems have plenty of hypocrisy of their own like Al Gore and his mansions and huge electric bill but tells the rest of us we are wasteful just because he can assuage his Liberal white guilt and buy carbon offset credits with his millions.
Like I said, if the press wants to play the hypocrisy game play it fairly!
Bedrooms, bathrooms, mule’s asses and the like – all part of life.
Nobody, including you, or me likes hypocrisy. At the same time, Al Gore, whether you like him, or not has done more to open everybody’s eyes to the very real problem of global warming. Hope you don’t question that and I also hope that you are not a dues-paying member of the Flat Earth Society.
Al Gore has done more than anybody else to line his pockets. He will not debate anybody with any scientific credibility because he has too much invested in “being right” not in “being correct.”
Good for good ol’ Al!
What is there to debate as far as global warming is concerned? Isn’t it pretty obvious that it is progressing at a much faster rate than anyone (including Gore) has predicted.
As far as lining one’s pockets, look at the people who have started our present wars and how much money THEY are making out of it – and I don’t mean al-Qaida, either.
On Earth there was once an ice age. When the glaciers were melting did one caveman (named Al Gore) turn to another caveman (named Rush Limbaugh) and tell him that they were cooking too many brontosaurus burgers over the campfire and the carbon released was causing the glaciers to melt?
LOL! I like your Gore/Limbaugh analogy.
A couple of problems, though: Glaciers are melting much faster now than in those days and unlike in Hollywood movies, the brontosauruses died off way before the cavemen appeared. How about a woolly mammoth burger then?
I was being sarcastic. I think they ate brontosaurus burgers in the Flintstones.
You should know the more ice you got the slower it melts and the harder it is to tell how much has melted.
Yes, I know that.
Lets not worry about a thing then.
How did we ever get into global warming, from the subject of sexual peccadilloes?
Could it be possible that the warmer climate is making the Republicans more horny?
Well talking about sex can lead to discussions of frigidity. Maybe Sprizter and his wife did the same thing and that’s why he saw a hooker?
Helllooo ? (eeechooooooo) this guy is a HOE.
that’s it. a Cheap Ass Broken Garden Tool.
his wife should get equal time on tv
to beat his ass to a bloody pulp; infront
of the “argen-teen” (as lil missy is rumored
to be quite young) tv audience and the SC TV
audience. maybe let the rest of the nation get
it on reduced rate Pay Per View. say $1.79 per address.
There are just WAYYYY too many hoes in this
office. shouldn’t we just put a few more boxes on the damn
application – Mistress ? Hoe ? Escort ? Down-LOW ? Crook ?
that may help us to get to the bottom line a lil faster and cheaper. who cares that he’s a repub. that beside the point, but
what is the point is that these hoes all seem to be men.
does this point to the question , why can’t men control
they willy’s when they become governor ?
has there ever been a scandal like this involving a Woman ?
I can’t remember one, can you ?
Maybe, but that dip’s wife was actually much better looking than he deserved.
This story seems to be well on its way to gather a record number of comments
Just teacher sex scandals. Probably if most governors were women we’d see some of them getting in trouble.
Looks My Friend are not everything – you sexy grey fox;
who’s married to the gina lolabrigida look alike.
everybody would envy you – so lets get back to the turd and his tart.
do you know of any Female Politicians who have been
outted as Hoes while on the Job, especially recently ?
and no your liason with cuntilicious doesn’t count since
it’s only your paper imaginationary doll; not the plastic one.
if we could only be as smooth as you James Bond..
And congressmen and women and so forth and so on. The point is what “values” are these people supposedly preaching? And why do you insist on defending them anyway?
Are all those compliments directed at moi?
Wasn’t it Barney Frank that had a gay sex ring being run out of his home? He was a Democrat right? Difference is republicans and conservatives hold their leaders to some sort of moral standard… Dems on the other hand… Not so much… Spitzer was a rare exception…
just the facts man; just the facts.
to quote Joe Friday – who played a cop on tv
but was not really a cop.
but really doh,
do you think women politicos’ are as big at the
sexy scandal game as their male counterparts ?
I would surely like to hear some of those tawdry details..
oooo tell your wife to dig into it, so we can get the reallll
dirt. Inquiring minds WANNA KNO Damn it.
Do you think Hills’ got a caramel coated sugadaddy hid out in anacostia, or maybe The Foggy Bottom ?
Sweet Minty Jesus – Have Mercy !
It’s rather funny how when a Republican is caught with his pants down, the right attempts to make it a personal issue, and claims that they never go for the jugular when it happens to a Democrat.
I nearly split my sides last night watching Bill O’Reilly as he attempted to claim that Fox News and the right never went after Edwards over his affair. He lamented how the “liberal media” was going to crucify Sanford for his dalliances.
If it happens to a liberal, it is just another example of how “out of touch” they are with the rest of America and how stained their values are. If it happens to a conservative, we should just respect the family’s privacy during a trying time.
Chelsea was fair game, even though she was a quiet child, and did nothing to bring shame to the family during their eight years in the White House. Clinton never held his daughter up as model for others, and never claimed to have the moral high ground as a parent.
Yet people like Rush Limbaugh attacked and dragged Chelsea through the mud, and the “liberal” media remained quiet about their attacks, as if she somehow deserved it.
Palin’s daughter gets knocked up, despite mommy’s best “abstinence only” promotions. She drags her daughter and grand son on the national stage, and nearly forces Levi Johnston into a shot gun wedding at the Republican National Convention, just to show what wonderful family values they have.
Palin used her daughter like a tampon–yes, the imagery is deliberate–but it is David Letterman who abused Bristol with a joke on a light night show.
Hypocrisy doesn’t begin to describe the party of family values today. It’s no longer a matter of people living in glass houses casting stones. These people are buck naked on the busiest American street corner knocking passersby over with 2×4’s quoting scripture while having an orgy of sex and debauchery.
Excellent take on this issue Blanca. Thanks!
I wonder if we have enough sexy women politicos for that kind of thing
Pisio, did you ever hear Barney preaching “family values” publicly?
I don’t think this issue has anything to do with Republicans vs. Democrats. It has to do with men. I say we kick out all men from pubic– er, uh, PUBLIC office. That should fix it!!!
Did the S. Carolina Gov. preach family values publicly?
Repeatedly
Here you go Crabby Blogging Lady! A womanocracy in the making!
@Harrison – Here you go buddy.

Do morals matter in the Democrat party at all? So what if Frank did or did not preach family values… He had a gay prostitution ring being run out of his house… Is that in line what Democrats stand for? If not, where was the outrage? All I am saying is, I would rather associate with a party that holds people to standards, principles and values (preached or not) than one that only worries about power.
To begin with, what Frank did should have been censured.
At the same time, aren’t most politicians at least partly prostituting themselves?
The quotes never said anything about him holding his family up as being the center of his life or anything. And for gay marriage he just said it should be between a man and a woman. The guy was a hypocrite. This kind of stuff doesn’t belong in the public area anyway.
He still didn’t claim he was a moral paragon.
@Harrison – You didn’t ask for quotes of him holding his family up as being the center of his life. You asked for quotes of him preaching family values publicly.
@Pisio808 – This has less to do with morals and more to do with Republicans being hypocritical pieces of shit.
Seemingly on lying, supporting treacherous actions of an unelected president and thumping the Bible.
I looked at the quotes. Most of them are about Clinton’s lying under oath.
So, what is your point? Aren’t the majority of Republicans bible-thumpers and trumpeting “family values” and morality?
Despite the fact that a huge number of them have been caught in all kinds of compromising sexual situations, that doesn’t seem to be sufficient for you. Would you like more Republicans to be caught cheating, whoring and doing their gay bathroom thing? If that’s indeed the case, I wouldn’t be surprised if your wish came through
the majority of Republicans? like 50.1% Are the majority of Democrats Cindy Sheehan? I think not.
A huge number of men have been caught in compromising sexual situations regardless of party just as is the case with corruption and any other moral issue.
No, more like 62.3%.
Link?
Pretty irrelevant now. The GOP must be reading Politicus.US regularly as in response to numerous sex scandals – in particular, several recent public affairs by high ranking Republicans – the Republican National Committee voted Thursday to remove “Family Values” from the official GOP platform.
It’s about time that is removed.
I suppose that now we can expect a sexual peccadillo renaissance of sorts among the GOP
The Duke researcher accussed of offering his 5 year old son for sex is a Democrat

I suppose we could look up every deviant and I’m sure it would be at least a 50/50 split.
You’re still on that subject, Harrison?
A deviant is a deviant. One that runs around with a bible, spouting “moral” thoughts and such is obviously worse than one who doesn’t.
Was the Duke researcher an elected official? Did he use his pulpit to lecture us sinners?
The way I look at it, all those who voted for Bush in 2004 must be deviants. How else would you explain their behavior? I think that voting for W then went way beyond stupidity and into deviant territory.
Although I didn’t vote for Bush I guess you considered the majority of Americans to be deviants.
You didn’t vote for Bush?!!! I must say that I am pleasantly surprised!!!
Your comments section blew up!
Harrison, do you realize that the “Are Republican ‘Values’ Based on Sexual Perversions? ” post had a record number of comments and that most of them are yours?
Actually we share comment numbers equally… did you notice that?
You mean my responses, largely to your comments?
A watermelon???
I don’t care that they all seem to have sex with whatever is lying around, but at least they should not then act holier than thou and hypocritical about it.
And the anti-gay attitudes of the GOP are so 19th century. They just can’t modernize as the rest of the world changes, so I vote to end the Republican party once and for all.
We can only hope that nobody beside him has eaten any of that watermelon
