Sooner or later, when “boiled down to the bones,” it’s our being not just our image which has been so gravely soiled. Even the neo-cons — or perhaps their sons in uniform filling the ranks of future armies — will grow to understand the critical necessity of the “high ground.” The world has watched us soil ourselves, often rising to the occasion of matching or even bettering our bad actions.

Did we think all this international mischief would have unfolded so fluidly had we not set such a dismal example? (Still haven’t even mentioned the “W” …)
