Try to be a little more optimistic! Your posts suggest that maybe you’ve been spending too much time rambling through MeanMesa…

On the other hand, it’s somewhat comforting to encounter so much as a fleeting hint that I’m not over stating the depth of the “bottomless pit” our neo-con friends were able to dig under the protective cover of the W’s autocracy.

Rats. I always secretly hoped that I was exaggerating. Oh well, tomorrow’s another day. I’m on jury duty, but the trials are not the ones I think we need the most right now. My idea of a good time includes guillotines and out of control citizens in DC.

MegaMan, you got a point…to a degree. Remember that it is usually much easier to start a war, than to actually get out of one. The same goes for screwing something up and for fixing it. Give the man some time.

I don’t think either one of these guys Bush or Obama, Democrat or Republican has done all that much to get our people out of wars that we have no business being in..

Is Obama not the commander-in-chief? So how about saying OK guys..put your gear in a plane and fly back home..

So why isn’t he if he is so much against it? He’s the got the Nobel peace prize..maybe he should do something for peace?

I think we need a real change..something other than a Republican or Democrat..

These folks have now gathered up every remnant of civil society’s normal willingness to “let by gones be by gones,” lathering on layer upon layer of “it’s someone else’s fault.” Bad intelligence, necessity of the moment, Bill Clinton did it (ABC even broadcast an entire movie — on its own dime! — about exactly how Bill Clinton “allowed” all of 9/11 to happen…), anybody resisting the U.S. is either evil or a criminal (anyone ever heard about regular old “enemies?” … the kind that turn into POW’s? … instead of “evil,” “criminal” victims of psycho-sexual torture?) — all desperate public relations gambits masquerading as national security matters.

Yuck.

The U.S. electorate is not finished with the crimes of the unelected autocracy. It’s ultra-creepy to even think of these throwbacks living among us as honorable, law-abiding citizens.

We have already paid too high a price in blood and treasure for the W’s Iraq Hydrocarbon Treaty.
